Hrithik Roshan and Barbara Mori are unveiling their flick Kites at Cannes 2009 apart from revealing that they have kissed passionately like real-lovers in the flick.

Hrithik says, “Why are we even talking about kissing? Is that such a big deal? Hasn’t our cinema grown up? Yes, there’re kissing scenes in the film, but nothing to make me squirm. In fact, I’d be more than happy and completely comfortable watching those kissing scenes with my wife, son and parents when the film is released.”

” ‘Kites’ is a love story. It’s about people in love. And what do people in love do to express their mutual feelings? In fact, it was Barbara Mori who made me realise how silly we look on screen while shying away from expressing love naturally.”

“We were both supposed to jump off from a rooftop at an impossible height. Before we did so our director Anurag Basu suggested I kiss Barbara since we were doing something death-defying and dangerous and potentially lethal. I reached out and kissed her on the cheeks.

“Barbara turned around to ask why I had kissed her on the cheek. ‘Given the same situation with your real-life wife, Suzanne, would you kiss her on the cheek?’ I was floored by her logic.”

“And this time I kissed her the way real-life couples would in the situation. On the lips.”

Studio 18 is taking Strides

After taking giant steps as distributor [WELCOME, SINGH IS KINNG, KIDNAP, GOLMAAL RETURNS and GHAJINI] and baby steps as co-producers [LITTLE ZIZOU and DIL KABADDI], The Indian Film Company and Studio 18 are ready to take gigantic steps in film production too.

The company has already tied up with Abbas-Mustan [to remake THE ITALIAN JOB; the rights have been officially bought from the foreign studio], David Dhawan, Anees Bazmee, Priyadarshan and Sanjay Gadhvi [7 DAYS IN PARIS]. Besides, there's a co-production with Gurinder Chadha [IT'S A WONDERFUL AFTERLIFE] and Dev Benegal [ROAD, MOVIE; international sales agent Fortissimo Films has acquired the global distribution rights of the film] as well.

There's an interesting line up for distribution too, starting with LIFE PARTNER [Abbas-Mustan], SHORTCUT [Anil Kapoor], LUCK [Shree Ashtavinayak] and Arshad Warsi's home-production. So expect a lot of action from July onwards from this corporate entity.

Deepika who took Bollywood by storm after her debut film ‘Om Shanthi Om’, has proved time and again that she is here to stay proving the same with a high success rate in her films.

Apart from bagging films from best banners to her name, Deepika has also been doing well endorsing brands both national and International, as well as posing for various famous magazines like Vogue, Cosmopolitan and Elle.

Hollywood biggie Rob Cohen feels that Deepika is gorgeous and more beautiful than Angelia Jolie! Looks like Rob is really impressed.

There are also reports suggesting that Deepika might soon be signing a Hollywood film.

Though nothing has been confirmed yet reports indicate suggest that talks have been going on. Aishwarya To Perform At IIFA

You heard this here first. Aishwarya Rai-Bachchan Will be dancing at the 10th IIFA awards to be held in Macau from June 11. Sonam Kapoor is all set to make her stage debut at IIFA this year. Aishwarya Rai too has been confirmed and so has Kareena Kapoor.

The show will be hosted by Riteish Deshmukh, Lara Dutta and Boman Irani. But one of the highlights each year, the movie premier, has been done away with. Explains IIFA director Sabbas Joseph, “It can’t be helped.

The movie premiere had to be cancelled this year because of the ongoing strike of new releases in Bollywood. two big films were ready to be premiered at IIFA this year. I shall refrain from mentioning their names. But the imbroglio did away with the premiere.”

As a substitute IIFA this year has the world-famous Cirque de Soleil performing for the audience. “We believe audiences won’t get a chance to miss the world premiere once they see the Cirque de Soleil performing.”

Why Macau? Says Sabbas,”Because we feel it’s the Las Vegas of the East. In this the tenth year of IIFA’s existence we wanted either the US or China to be our venue. We chose China because we feel it could be a gateway for Bollywood to the West. We also hope to end the deadlock between India and China over the exchange of cinema. We haven’t come away from one venue without opening up doors for Bollywood. We’re confident this would be the case in China.”

World Bank Scholarship

The Joint Japan/World Bank Graduate Scholarship Program (JJ/WBGSP) is run with funding from the Japanese government and the World Bank; scholarships are awarded to individuals from World Bank member countries to study at renowned universities in other member countries. 2. The Robert S. McNamara Fellowships Program provides support to young researchers working in academic and research institutions from eligible countries preparing a doctoral dissertation. Research grants cover residence costs for a 5 to 10 month period in a renowned university or research center

Ready to lend a helping hand and ensuring that Jackky gains enough mileage due to their presence, both women consented immediately when Vashu Bhagnani approached them to perform in the country wide tour that the team of KAL KISSNE DEKHA has embarked upon.

'For both Kareena and Lara, Jackky is like a 'ghar ka bachcha'', says Vashu who is continuing to market and promote his film aggressively in spite of yet another move in the film's release date, 'Kareena has worked with me in one of her biggest hits ever, MUJHE KUCH KEHNA HAI as well as JEENA SIRF MERRE LIYE.

With her sister Karisma too I have made COOLIE NO. 1, HERO NO. 1 and BIWI NO. 1. She just asked me when and where she is required to be present. That's the best part of this industry. There is such emotional bonding between people in spite of all the talks about professional rivalries and back biting. In the last few weeks, the way Kareena and Lara have lend me support, I have further gone on to realize that we folks are indeed one big family and the ties that are seen in Bollywood can't be evidenced elsewhere.'

Adds Jackky, 'I have known Lara and Kareena for so long but them supporting me for the promotion of my debut film has been an extraordinary affair. Frankly, I wasn't too sure how it all would turn out but dad always has belief in the people he works with. He was confident that no one would turn him away.

Thankfully, this is what happened and both the ladies were sporty enough to accompany me for the tours. I can never ever forget what they have done for me.' Meanwhile there continues to be uncertainty around the release of the movie after it was announced at the last minute that Vivek Sharma directed KAL KISSNE DEKHA won't eventually make it for the 29th May release. With the current stand off between producers and multiplexes failing to see any resolution, it is indeed a 'kal kissne dekha' moment for all involved with the movie.

Actress Mugdha Godse too Busy

Actress Mugdha Godse is busy from day to night these days. The reason behind this hectic schedule is her two upcoming films.

She has to continuously shuffle between Goa and Mumbai for shooting of both the films. Madhur Bhandarkar's Jail is being shot in Mumbai while shooting of Rohit Shetty’s “All The Best” is going in Goa.

Mugdha has to continuously change moods also as Jail is a serious movie while All The Best is a comedy.

Mugdha said: "I'm still trying to adjust to that. One day I'm dancing and joining the celebrations with a large number of co-stars in All The Best. Then on the very next day I have to be all sombre and serious for Jail."

Along with the hard work, Mugdha has to take care of her neck also which got injured in a road accident some time back. Although she is happy with the fact that due to her neck injury is she gets extra care on the sets.

The grapevine is abuzz with rumors that Bollywood diva Katrina Kaif, who reportedly broke up with Bollywood hunk Salman Khan earlier this week, is the new love interest of John Abraham (of Dhoom fame).However, John's current girlfriend Bipasha Basu has cleared the air, saying "No Way!"

In the past, John has been romantically linked up with Mallika Sherawat (when the two did a world tour), Lara Dutta (Elaan) and Vidya Balan (Salaam-e-Ishq) but the ravishing Bips has dismissed the John-Katrina link-up as figment of the media's imagination.

"John and I have gone through enough of such gossip. I don't want to give any credibility to this by even commenting on it. It is malicious and absolutely the most bizarre story involving us. Just for the knowledge of people who actually love us together, we are very happy being with each other, and we're responsible and protective about our relationship," the Bong bombshell told The Times of India.

According to a Bollywood source, John and Katrina have being romantically linked up due to their close proximity during the promotion of their movie New York and they were spotted exchanges SMSs. Besides John and Salman are known for sharing cold vibes for quite some time.

"This is bizarre. John was shocked to read stories of his 'latest flame.' He is absolutely happy with Bips and they both had a good laugh over the latest rumor," the source said. Perhaps true. But can the media be blamed since all the Bollywood hotties find John so attractive?
