MQM activist shot dead in Karachi

An activist of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) was shot dead on Tuesday.

Sixty-year-old Haji Mohammed Siraaj was shot dead by armed men in Nabi Bux police limits. Police sources said that Siraaj was working as a general councillor at UC-6 of Sadar Town.

He was a resident of Hooti Market, Ranchore Line, Nabi Bux police limits.

Police said that the victim was standing at a local shop in Hooti Market when three armed men riding a motorcycle opened indiscriminate fire and killed Siraaj on the spot. The deceased sustained seven bullet wounds.

He leaves behind a widow and four children. A case has been registered and investigation is underway.
