A three-year-old boy, Bilal, died on Tuesday after consuming poisonous sweetmeats. According to details, the boy’s family, residents of Ali Akbar Shah Goth, had all become ‘seriously ill’ after they consumed sweetmeats with poisonous chemicals in them. Edhi sources said that Bilal, son of Zaheer, died after consuming these sweetmeats, while while six-year-old Tasleema, was unconscious. Others who had become unconscious after consuming the sweets were Usman, 7, Ibrahim, 6, Sohail, 4, Umbia, 40, wife of Noorul Haq, and Jahan Ara 28, wife of Zakir. The family was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) and is admitted in the poison ward.
